Gatherings

Sunday mornings 10 a.m.

  • We meet weekly as an ecumenical group (from multiple Christian traditions) to reflect on scripture and our faith journeys, share bread and cup, and seek restoration and renewal to continue in the work on justice and peacemaking. We celebrate our LGBTQ members and leaders and the beautiful diversity of humanity. Learn more about our core principles and practices.
  • From Sunday, October 18, we meet at 10 a.m. at Restoried Bookshop, 4613 N. Kedzie Ave, Chicago (map), on Sundays when we aren’t having wild church outdoors or on retreat.
  • On the last Sunday of each month we have wild church outdoors. On Sunday, October 25, we will meet near the parking lot for Picnic Grove #1 of the LaBagh Woods, in the large grassy area in between the side of the accessible bathrooms and the picnic shelter. Contact the Rev. Celeste Kennel-Shank at 312-967-6785 with any questions.
  • Please check our calendar below for the most-updated information about where we’re gathering on a specific date.

What to expect

Our group is small and the atmosphere is like a living room. Each person is welcome to

  • participate in any parts of the service they wish, including by listening and thinking silently without speaking;
  • observe without partaking (for example, in the sharing of bread and cup);
  • do something with their hands—coloring affirming coloring book pages, crocheting, knitting, or similar crafts; and
  • dress casually—including pajamas.

Gather Together community meals

  • With our partner Gather Together, we host community meals in Albany Park. The most-recent one was Saturday September 26 in front of Drake Gardens, 4643 N. Drake, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The next is TBD.
